aventron once again surpassed the 1 billion kilowatt hour mark in electricity production in the 2021 financial year, generating total output of CHF 121.7 million.
aventron increased its production in the 2021 financial year to 1,135 (previous year 1,045) gigawatt hours (GWh). This corresponds to an increase of 7.7 %. This is the second time after 2020 that aventron's electricity production has exceeded the 1 billion kilowatt hour mark. The good earnings from the power plants in six European countries led to a total output of CHF 121.7 (107) million according to unrevised calculations.
In addition to the acquisitions and commissioning of construction projects in the wind and water sectors, record-high electricity prices contributed to this growth in sales. This led to an increase in revenues in Norway in particular, but also in Spain, Italy and Germany. EBIT reached CHF 37.2 (31.5) million with an EBIT margin of 31 (30) percent.
aventron expanded its portfolio of wind, solar and small hydropower plants by 78 MW to 682 MW in the 2021 financial year. This means that aventron has achieved its target. In Norway, the merger of aventron Norway AS with Nordic Hydro Holding was a key factor in the growth. This makes aventron Norway AS the third-largest operator of small hydropower plants in Norway. The acquisition of the recently completed Hellberge V wind farm (7.0 MW) in Germany and Gismarvik (12.6 MW) in Norway ideally round off the wind portfolio, which now stands at 300 MW. In Switzerland, the new construction site for a small hydropower plant on the Veveyse in French-speaking Switzerland started. In addition, several photovoltaic plants were realised.
aventron will publish its audited consolidated financial statements on 30 March 2021.
